Where I'm From
I am from the month of June,
From daisies and dolls
I am from pine trees and puddles,
From the land
of clouds and coffee
I am from watercolor,
That absorbs with each stroke.
I am from journals bound with leather
From European bookstores.
I am from salty sea air,
and the Puget Sound.
I am from Shel Silverstein
And Dragon Tales.
I am from swimming pools
and mermaids.
I am grass stains and converse
from woody parks
I am from Neosporin and naps.
I am from
“I love you”
to “This too shall pass.”
