Taekwondo
Balance your spirit and your mind
Achieving true power from inside
Practice your form
Spar with friends
Training will never end
It's time for a tournament
Your coach tells you that this time I am red
Put on all your gear
Make sure to have no fear
Don’t be nervous keep it cool
Sweat rolls down both peoples faces
The score is tied four to four
Time slows down as both lock eyes
Trying to see into each other's minds
They both choose their kicks
And as if a gun went off for a sprint
With full force they launch their legs
Straight at each others heads
The buzzer sounds as blue get the point
Because he blocked the opponent's foot
Coach tries to cheer me up
Tells me to train harder and come back
So I take his word
I train day and night
Getting myself ready for this fight
Sleep and school are my only rest
This time i'm determined to win
Person after person I study their style
I know I have quite a while
Until finally it is my turn
First spar is five to two
Second spar is going fine
Until an unseen kick makes me dazed
Still standing he gets more points
He's too far ahead at this point
I will never forget
The friends I made at this tournament
