Angels and Demons
The invisible guests of my mind,
The spirits of angels and demons
Demanding confessions for
Crimes I have not committed.
My silent misery seems to
Condemn me to more:
More lashings-
More grief-
More agonies.
My genuine frailty hidden
Behind an indecent masque of hate.
I will not confess, no,
Rather, I will endure.
I will not give them the satisfaction
Of begging-
Of whimpering-
Of breaking.
