Torn in Half
Those beautiful live long days were gone
Leaving only bitter hatred in its wake.
How could she look at her mom now?
Too much had changed.
Her heart of gold had turned to stone.
Her once beautiful smile forced and fake.
Her mom’s once comforting hug, now felt rigid and cold.
Her home burned to the ground.
She needed her mom, but she wasn’t around.
So alone she cried
And alone she screamed
And ran to escape
From her nightmarish dreams.
She practices her smile in the mirror
And pretends that her life isn’t hell.
Everything is just swell.
