The 51 Year Old Ring
“Do ‘ya know what?”, questioned Grandpa,
“Your Grandma and I have been married for 51 years!”.
Four year old flesh marvels webbed arms,
the boy’s dazzling eyes gaze upon Grandpa’s ring.
“‘Ya mean that you’ve had-dat ring on yer finger ‘fer 51 whole years?”
“You bet! And do ‘ya know what else?” Grandpa lead on.
“What’s-dat?” The youngster requested with a gaping jaw.
“If I took the ring off, my finger would come with it!” wisdom mocked.
“WOW! Well don’t take it off den!” oblivion gasped.
