You see I write sad poems
When really I'm in love
I have a hard time
Slipping my mind
Around this rock
Why is it
When all I want to do
Is tell you I love you
All I can say
Is I'm broken this way
My love poems are laced
With broken phrases and tears
The tone of sorrow
Ruins the words of love
Why does it feel that I'm preparing
Waiting for the moment you slip from my fingers
Yes I want to love you like this day is our last
But I don't think I'm loving you that way.
