7:46 a.m.
I woke startled
As you pulled me closer
Gently tugging me
Bringing us together
You tucked my hair behind my ear
And softly kissed me
As I drifted back to sleep
It almost made me forget
Rays of light
Shone in
Due to lack of coverage from the small
Dingy curtain
Illuminating your features
And illuminating my smile
I almost forgot
I woke again
To you sitting next to me quietly
You laughed and said we had to go
You almost had me
We walked together
Not touching
But close enough
That it didn’t matter if we were
We got in the car
And went on such a familiar drive
You took the long way
It was like you wanted me to
But you pushed me away
You tried to trick me again
and
well
You did.
