Bleeding Hearts
Can we all just be happy for a change?
Can we not focus so much on the dark and dismal
But see the beauty and goodness
In things we normally overlook?
I’m not talking stop and smell the roses here
But rather, see the wilted rose and it’s beauty after death
I mean, I get that bad s*** happens
And sometimes it really just sucks
But today, maybe just put that tough s***
In a dark corner of your mind
And let it rot there for a while
And can we try to see
Death as room for more life
Tragedy as an opportunity
For a new understanding
And sorrow as joy in a more discreet form?
Let’s not let the world revolve around ourselves
But around the pillar of goodness we created
By dusting off the bad
And taking that small piece of good that’s left
And throwing it in with all the rest of the joy and happiness
Creating a world full of bleeding hearts
Who cry when others feel pain
And are there to pick each other up
When the darkness closes in
