Where I'm From
I am from attending Brewers games sitting in right field,
collecting the fragile bobbleheads from games.
I am from shaking while watching the Packers on Sunday,
losing my voice cheering for them.
From flying to California to visit my aunt and uncle,
to watching my brother and dad scream in pain when touching a cactus.
From traveling to the relaxing cabin on the 4th of July
to hanging on for for dear life while going tubing on the comforting lake.
I am from getting bruised playing hockey with my friends on days off,
sweating on the ice until the lights go dark.
I am from running back and forth while playing ultimate frisbee at the wide open park,
to the cops calling our parents because it was too dark.
From going on the church mission trip in the summer,
to helping the elderly in need of house repairs.
From going to the fundraisers for the trip,
to encouraging new people to do their part in fundraising.
I am from watching my grandpa deal with alzheimer's,
seeing him wilt.
I am from my grandma surviving cancer,
watching her fight.
I am from attending Brewers games sitting in right field,
collecting the fragile bobbleheads from games.
I am from shaking while watching the Packers on Sunday,
losing my voice cheering for them.
