[He said he likes the neon lights]
He said he likes the neon lights
the way the city looks at night.
He said he lives for doing drugs
to numb his heart
to free his mind.
I told him that when I get high
I pretend to live another life
I spread my wings and I take flight
off to do my momma right
to make good grades
and follow Christ.
Im off to turn the night to day
or maybe its the day to night.
Sunny skies expose my lies
the nights when I come out to play.
I simply sleep my days away
the aftermath of reckless ways
Im sure someday for which i'll pay.
He said he lost his morals
He said he doesn't pray
I said to always thank the Lord
you lived to see another day
