The Seasons of Harvest
Spring is our birth, our comfort,
A chance for new life,
Showers for new leaves,
Promises made,
Never lacking faith,
Summer is an endurance,
As the heat beats us down,
It is the animal's affection,
The smoldering green of the trees,
Great cracks in Earth’s skin.
Fall is our grade, our evaluation,
We stare at our results in agony or relief,
Such a hurrying to save the nourishment,
A chance to say goodbye,
Our enemy’s last chance,
Winter is the Prosecutor,
Who grants life and death,
Suffocating the color,
Drowning the ground,
Winter is the end.
