As we started to rise
The waves started to crash.
Wind was pounding in our faces.

I felt a rush of fear and excitement.
I was smiling ear to ear.

The rope finished unwinding.
I started to relax.
Then my bottom hit the water.
My heart dropped.

We stormed back into the clouds.
Observing the world from above.
Watching the fish swim below.
Skimming the beaches full of people
Looking like tiny ants.
It was a once in a lifetime sight.

They pulled the rope back in.
The experience was over.
It was one that
I’ll never forget.
I felt like I was
on top of the world.
