It’s Simplicity Creates Peace
A CD endlessly spinning was in the drive
Whirring silent, compared to the clicking of buttons
The CD projecting a world onto the television screen
It was enchanting
The music addicting
The story exciting
The characters everlasting
This was a videogame
A break from reality
Made of coding of numbers and letters
A simple controller with a few buttons was the gateway
It connected them to the world
Where magic could exist
Heroes never died
A world that shamelessly broke every rule of reality
Maybe this is why I had come to like this world so much
Maybe this is why these programmers made these games
So that even for just a few minutes
All the evil in the world can melt away
And one can feel safe and just play
