Leaving the Island

The lost boys wander Treasure Island.
Captain Hook goes on patrol.
Sophomoric Indians roam the chalked fields,
While unprincipled pirates are outnumbered by us lost boys.
We lose a few every year.
Forced to leave the island.
They have to grow up.
Some days, I want to leave.
But other times I’d rather endure Captain and his misfits.
