I’m from a one-mother household
And band camp stories on long car rides
From the city with my mom
And swamp land with my father
I’m from two different types of people
From a city girl
And a country boy

I’m from too many siblings to fit in one car
From too many hand me downs
I’m from two-blooded sisters
Half-brothers and half sisters
I’m from Violet, Hannah, Tristin, Miles, Lily, John, Austin, Britney, Khloe and Baby Gabby.

I am from watching Boomerang at 2 in the morning
From Kids next door pretending to kill “Rainbow Monkeys”
Promising everyone that I was number 3
I’m from finding my courage from a pink dog
(“The things I do for love”)
I’m from falling in love with Danny Phantom
(“Great now I’m crushed by space and guilt”) 
  
I’m from sitting in front of blank walls
And sitting beneath lily trees crying
Feeling like I have to change myself for others
I’m from mostly bad days
Singing in the car to Green Day
I’m from Blink-182, Sex Pistols, Breaking Benjamin and Smashing Pumpkins
An old soul that I am  

I’m from poetry till midnight
And writing till my eyes are closing
From listening to spoken word
And writing my own
From bigger dreams and better than

Standing in the grass looking over the horizon
I am just a memory sprawling out of a universe
I am just another human that has walked this earth
Leaving my mark behind
I am from the universe
Spit out and chewed up
