The Pleiades
See the Pleiades, rising in the east,
with their mourning and rainmaking,
as "Oh, brother!" they cry, and
"Sisters - return!"
For Hyas has gone down in contempt,
the hunter become the prey,
and the Hyades who loved him
have lost themselves in grief.
See the daughters of Pleione,
and the children of Atlas
now ascended to the stars,
to become signs for sailors,
astrologers and mapmakers;
filling the silos and
watering the earth with their tears.
