kerosene MAG
  i stretch my palms out to them
  asking them to
  unbind the bones that ache in me;
  every part I exposed –
  every time I made myself vulnerable to them
  they drank it up
  laughing at my sacrifice
  what have I done wrong,
  offering limb
  upon limb to their outstretched hands,
  their long fingers unfurling
  running away from cold palms that once
  held my newborn form close to them
  but quickly pushed me away as they realized
  i couldn’t make them happy.
