The Person to Blame
There is a void in my heart
The very place you were kept
In a place so vulnerable with one wrong movement
I would implode
This gaping wide pit pried apart by your hands
Leaving me limp and trying to cope with the darkness within
Darkness is danger
Danger is fear
Fear is weakness
So I suppose I am weak
For letting your absence leave such a blackened, charred heart
This emptiness
It is foreign to me
Thus my abandonment only wearing weaker on my damaged being
I once praised you
Now the only thoughts in my mind are of regret
My own stubbornness must be the cause of your departure
You wanted one thing only
The one thing that I refused to give
So you fled
And I shriveled like I was incinerated
So I suppose that I will attempt to mend
This collapsing body I was left with
For I have realized
That the only person who can fix my mistakes
Is me
