Dream of Lax
Leafy trail, a broken path
Rays of sunshine shimmer through leaves
Gentle steps, a flourished spath
Waves of light breeze dance in tease
Gathered chirps, a lessened wrath
Marks of morning pulses and weaves
Soundless stand, a simple fath
Crystallized skies cracks like glass
Here, as I recall
The shortened slack, in path for naught
Has ended as the bustle rose, vibrantly prosaic

I wrote this piece on the weekend before the final assessment and presentation of a stressful course. On the Saturday, in a study break, I spotted a garden trail with beautiful scenery. Walking on the trial, I couldn't get rid of the tightness in my chest. The stress made me unable to enjoy the beautiful scenes. I decided to write down my feelings at the time, along with how I think many people around me have a lack of appreciation to their surroundings.
Work is important, but never forget what you're working for.
