Prison

Heartbreaks left you crying,

As you lay in your bed thinking.

"What’s wrong with me?" You thought,

"Why did you keep this hate that I caused".

For years you asked yourself,

"Am I not enough? Am I loved?"

Or "Am I hated because of the attitude I have?"

You are emotionally and physically numb,

Keeping all your emotions away from the reality.

Your heart is locked up in your own prison,

Away from every truths as you sit and wait,

For someone to free you.

You built this Prison in your heart,

Away from people, you parted.

Keeping your thoughts to yourself,

As you weep and sob the pain away.

No one knows your dreadful truth and your traumatic past.

And they would never will.

Why oh why my locked up heart?

Why do you burden hate?

For years you kept everything to yourself,

And stayed strong as you lived.

Those fake smiles and laugh will never free you.

As you live your life, just be strong.

Use your pain as an example.

You kept yourself away from everybody.

Now it's the time to break out of that prison you created,

Then smile as you go on.

One day you’ll find someone who cares,

Someone who loves you for you,

And someone who’ll understand you.

As you grow, take this as a lesson.

Be strong and use your pain as an example.

Show them what you can do.

Past is past, it was meant to be forgotten,

And it was also meant to be a foundation of who you are.

But never forget that there are people in your present,

And so as your future while you go on.

Be happy and be strong,

For life might break you and fix you.

Understand that not everything is perfect.

Someone might leave you broken,

And someone might come to your life to fix you.

Just smile and be happy always.
