The Show Must Go ON
My stomach twists in knots, rolling in on itself as I bring the kettle to a rolling boil.
A drop of honey slowly drips down the side of the mug, sticky and hot.
My tears are thick and they stick to the corners of my bloodshot eyes-honey yellow on the drug that helps you smile when all you feel is sorrow.
My fingers shake to the offbeat rhythm of my heart as I type the words "I'm fine."
They are tired of playing the mime but my aching heart knows
The show must go on.
