Stronger
One moment you were here,
Then you were there.
I couldn't pin you down.
Now, you have gone away.
Away from them and away from us.
"You're lost at sea."
"You'll be back soon."
"Maybe, just maybe, you're missing me."
These were the things I told myself to cope,
What I told myself so I could forget.
Because,
You aren't coming back.
You won't look for me.
I've been replaced by someone new.
So I told myself lies to protect myself from the truth.
I still can't understand how you could leave me.
I was so young and full of hope.
That didn't stop you though.
You left me.
You are gone.
And because of that,
I'm stronger.
