The Storm
The storm rages,
waves the size of mountains,
and time and time again,
you find yourself lying against the rocks,
weathering away in the storm,
only that's not you.
You are a warrior,
driven by passion,
driven by love,
every time a wave comes you surge higher,
every time the sea pushes you back,
you swim harder,
every time the storm hits you,
time after time again,
You rise,
You rise,
You rise.
You don't drown by falling in the water,
you drown by staying there

I was inspired by a tough time a mentor (and friend) of mine was going through. And I realized that in many ways I was facing a storm of my own and was fighting it in my own way. We are all facing our own storms, it's just the drive to keep on going that we need to keep in mind. It's so much easier to just let the sea carry us away than it is to swim.
