Still I Shine
In my head, there’s howling wilderness
It feels as if I carry an entire ocean in one rain drop
Both sweet and heavy in the midst of everything
But there's an empty hum of space where your name used to reside
You were once a dripping cloud
Swirling passionately within the deep dark holes of my mind
But you could not handle the sun, for clouds dissolve in the brightest of light
I would not dim myself for anyone, you faded into the nearest exit
This is not tragic, I’ve bled far more than this
So I still shine
