changes
I try to stuff the damage in a ziplock bag
Conceal it in ways only I can expect
Because in a year it will all the different
All these faces will be a mere memory
My family will be in a different state
Roads and bridges away
Will my love be measured in postcards
Will I become an afterthought
A shadow of what I once was
Or will I find comfort in the unexpected
I may finally be still within the unknown
Swimming carelessly, forgetful of what tied me down in the past
