Hunting Leopard
Jumping through the dark night
A Leopard passes quietly by
With the ease of a river flowing, Silently
she stalks her prey
As the gazelle grazes
It spots movement, Her
ears perk up
It scans the forest
Unaware of what’s coming
Waiting, watching, wondering
The Lepoard’s expert paws slowly, softly, stalking
Her relaxed movements protect her
The gazelle holds still as it senses something
But it doesn’t know what
It’s hearbeat quickens
Like a feather floating to the ground
Silently the lepoard closes in
Getting closer and closer
The adrenaline pumping
The gazelle knows
She feels it
She wants to run
But her body tenses
She finally moves
Just once
The lepoard pounces
The speed of a cheetah running through her
The loud struggle
The final breath
The gazelle’s quiet defeat
The Leopards hungry victory
