Frozen World
Silently watching it fall
Slowly and softly,
Like falling into a pillow
As I watch one flake fall onto my skin I feel an icy chill
The cold seeping in
I know the animals feel it too
Sprinkling flurries down
My breath is crisp,
as I exhale the freezing cold
I can see it in between the flurries of frozen falling snow
Bringing a new light to the forest
The mood changes as the animals burrow inside,
Preparing for a cold, icy winter
The squirrels chattering about who gets the last walnut,
Running about the trees hoping to find another,
They all know
Winter is here
