Free Verse of Recognition
No longer was the colour of gold romanticized
No longer was a rich blue favored above all others
No longer was green associated with a divine beauty
But rather eyes as black as ebony
A true beauty encased
like pools of fine ink
devouring all light in their intensity
and radiating it back out
His eyes so dark
You could find yourself trapped in them forever
Swallowed in by their comforting abyss
His smile sincere
His comforting embrace
There was more beauty and light
in his pitch black eyes
than any pair of blue eyes
could ever hope to hold
