Fear lingers here,

and only at night it appears

but we don't dare to go near

because it feeds off of fea

They slayed a pig, and cut her head

Put it on a stick, that stained dark red

Gave it as an offering, and presumed dead

Simon spoke to it, and misread

He tumbled down, to his death

All thanks to a pig head

The conch that connected us all,

was left behind, with no one to call

I should've blown, I should've called

if I did, my friend wouldn't be lost at all

I feared you, Lord of the Flies

It took me a while to see your disguise

They murdered you, which was unwise

My dear Simon, if only we can go counterclockwise

The author's comments:

Currently in my sophmore Language Arts Honors 2 class, we are reading The Lord of the Flies. Our assignment was to create some type of art, and I made a poem about the fiction novel.
