The kitchen of Me
Rows of polished steel.
Fine china stacked delicately on a shelf.
Glasses buffed to shine like crystal.
I am a kitchen.
Working to make something great.
I am a Fork.
I have variations, many uses.
Salad, Fish, Dessert.
All different. Slightly altered. But all serve the same purpose.
Piercing life on a single tine, working to help you become closer and closer to your goal.
I am a Ice Cream scoop.
I help to make life just a bit easier.
Whether its cracking a joke to see you smile, or doing something just to make your day,
I try to comfort in any way I can.
I am a peeler.
I try to bring out the best in people.
Encouraging, pushing people to see past that superficial layer.
To see the real thing underneath. The beautiful thing.
I am a knife.
I should be handled with care.
I try to expand my knowledge. Constantly learning something new everyday.
I am sharp witted.
I am a blender.
Surrounding myself with various types of people.
Different ethnics, beliefs, religions, genders.
Combining those traits to create new ideas and perspectives
I am a ladle.
Submerging myself completely in my work.
Enveloped in my passions.
Basking in the thought that there is always room for improvement.
I am a kitchen.
Bringing together different parts, different views to create something new, unique.
Something that is distinct, remarkable, one-of-a-kind.
Something that is me.

This piece started when me teacher told us to make a list of things that first pop into our head, when she gave us a topic . One of the topcs was kitchen untensils and the first thing that popped into my head was a spoon. We were then instructed to make a poem out of what we wrote comparing it to ourselves. In the amount of time that we had to write, I had no chance of thinking of a whole poem about a spoon. but then I thought
What about a kitchen...
