I'm That Girl

I'm the girl with fake confidence
I hide behind jokes and smiles
Yet I always wonder if I'm truly enough
I don’t like being left alone
I don’t like the stares that follow me through the hall
I feel alone even though I'm surrounded by loving friends
I feel scared when I don’t know what to do
And I’m worried that one day I might slip up
And everything good will be gone
The ink on the pages of my story will fade
And I will lie in my tears and fear the night again.
