the day of a plant
I am a plant
and I am very tall.
I am not the size of an ant.
I am a cedar tree, after all.
All day long I stand in the park
watching people walk their dogs
as they bark
and chase miniature logs.
Those sticks were once my limbs
from when I was only small.
But at least a park is better than a gym
because here, people can come just to throw and catch a ball.
