A Forest for a Tree

As my pen tip hits the page,
the ink beings to flow from the tip,
and I can’t help but ponder
the things I might depict.
What will it be?
Mountains, a forest, a lonely tree.
It stands tall in a sea
of white paper and blackened sketch lines.
It’s proud, but alone nonetheless–
perhaps I’ll draw it a forest, too.
