Punching Valentine
Rose petals that you placed on the counter
Have rotten
The chocolate that you sent me
Have melted in my car
The teddy bear that you stole for me
Has been ripped up and burned
The empty promises
I’m throwing them out the window, along with your things
The kisses you placed on my neck
I burned them off and I’m giving them back
The bruises you left on my arm, have healed but the ones on my heart will never go away
I still cover my black eye with makeup I never had to use before
I’m not your valentine anymore
Or your punching bag
I placed rose petals on my counter
They’re still fresh after a week
I bought myself chocolate
They taste better than before
I bought myself a teddy bear
Its bigger than any love you ever gave me
