A Smile More Alive Than Life Itself
Picture this:
A young soul completely out of touch with the world.
To him, he’s on a whole ‘nother stage.
For the past year, he was consistently shattered and slaughtered by society.
Then one night,
One fateful night,
He found himself at a celebration, a ceremony of sorts.
Totally exhausted from the year-long battle he had all but lost,
He took a seat in the back…
Right next to you.
And little did he know,
Next to you that one fateful night
Would completely revive his heart’s light.
For I was and am filled with gladness,
To finally have found someone of my own madness.
Your eyes, your hair, your soul, your smile, all so much more alive than life itself,
Have, for the first time all year, put a smile on myself.
And so the pain from the past have you helped me kill,
For last year’s enormous demons are nothing but lil’.
Thus have I taken the romance pill,
Not knowing with or against my will.
Let’s forget about school,
The education system having a flimsy foundation of wool,
All of it built for making many a fool.
Together, let’s go away,
And find ourselves on the finest stage of all Broadway.
I know I am unfathomable,
I know I am extremely far off from typical,
But please don’t find this laughable,
For I’m trying my best to be comprehensible.
Picture this:
A sunset.
A sweeping, glowing, awe-inspiring sunset of red and orange and white,
Wholly smothering the sky in a coat of pink.
All of it representing
Emancipation, happiness, youthfulness, liberation, and life ever eternal
To this abnormal soul.
To him,
It represents all the beauty and horror
This Wheel of Life throws at us.
That brilliant, bright ball of fire,
Gazing down upon us with its magnificent rays
As it slowly lowers itself below the horizon.
A sunset.
A summer full of sunsets.
A summer signifying our freedom, and our distance.
Our distance.
Quite the bummer.
Do you want to know the best part?
The best part of the magnificent, glorious, heavenly sunsets?
They all remind me of you.
Happy Birthday!
(If you’ve made it to here),
I wish you another happy year.
Sincerely,
A fellow actor
(Oh dear)
