My Wings
If I really try
Just like a bird, I can fly
Leaving all of my worries behind
And take dive into the horizon of July...
But you don't want to see me fly
Or test the waters of life
You keep my feet dry
You clip my wings and tell me not to cry
Saying one day I'll understand why...
But that's not how I want it
So from your hands, I will pry
My way from your grasp
And this time it will be you not I
Left behind and you'll be the one to sit and cry
And with a simple sigh
I will explain to you why
I had to leave you...
Because I have wings
And no one will cage me
