Blue promises permanence-
Think of omniscient ocean blue,
a steadfast sky blue,
or a blistering blue flame.

Blue rises.
The ferocious, thrashing high tides.
The brilliant apex of the sun’s arc,
The overwhelming, hungry power of fire.

Blue falls.
The timid tides under gentle moonlight.
The soothing sunset robbing the cerulean sky of its glory.
The whimpering whispers of smoke from a candle, blown out.

Yet blue is forever blue.
The end of a brief, bright life leaves a navy ocean,
The celestial cerulean galaxies seen by a little boy with a telescope.
The fighting flickers of the lasting blue embers in the core of the wick.

I am like blue.
Blue falls, blue rises,
Yet it stays true to itself, forever blue.
