Love Letters to Poetry
As a kid you’re taught, to fall in love with yourself,
So when you fall in love with someone else,
You don’t lose yourself in them.
When I fell in love with you, it was different
Before you, when I would fall in love,
The idea of me, became blurred with the idea of us- the idea of you.
With you it’s different, because when I fell in love with you,
You taught me what it’s like to fall in love with yourself.
That’s the difference, and I keep falling in love with you- over and over again.
And each time I manage to find myself all over again.
