Footsteps that Led to a Dead End
I try to fit in,
but I’m ignored and go back to my room,
as a good little boy would.
I followed in my father’s footsteps,
I embodied him, I used the lessons he taught me.
Except, no matter how hard I tried to be like him,
I still lacked his confidence, and my own self identity.
No one saw me the way they saw my father.
I was just another businessman.
No charisma, no charm.
No friends, and no ends.
What have I become?
Where will I go now?
