The Cheeseburger Rainstorm
Falling from the sky
are the hamburger buns with
hungry mouths in line.
Burgers on the grill,
cooking to perfection as
excitement rises.
Cheese on each burger,
melting in savory joy,
dancing on each tongue.
Ketchup falls like rain,
landing on to each burger,
creating delight.
Pickles tumble down.
Dill, half sour, and kosher
fill the streets with bliss.
Satisfaction gained,
each flavor in harmony,
the best meal obtained.

I wrote this piece for a class where we had to construct a haiku-style poem. The first thought that came to mind was the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. So, I developed my own version of this, but through a haiku, I based the poem on the components of a cheeseburger falling from the sky.
