sip and savour
love me like you would
a coffee at sunrise or
ice cold milk in
carribean heat
ogled at by beggars and
childless fathers with
gentle hands. hold me
with those small spoons you love but
can’t seem to find and
tell my melting legs
they’re beautiful. soak me on
polyester sleeves
and savour each drop
reel back your memory as
you sink and we dream
on wet marshmallow
and pieces of oat-shaped ice
hold these white-washed hands
ask me questions of
my childhood and coddle
me close as
i overspeak
free me with constriction
find me wrapped in haiku
on the welcome mat
your breath, velveteen
raise my hairs with your whispers
feed me while you sip,
while you sip and savour

This was actually a free verse before I edited it. I love this piece, so much.
