Autumn Collection
We must say farewell,
To our lovely friend summer,
His time is over.
The leaves are dropping,
And everything is changing,
This is something new.
Now it is autumn,
The air is crisp and chilly,
Summer is no more.
The flowers are gone,
Now there are only weeds left,
And some grasses, too.
The trees are now bare,
Their leaves have been stripped away,
They are skeletons.
Branches and twigs crack,
Dry and brittle under my feet,
I feel bad for them.
Deer run through the fields,
Gun shots echo after them,
It's hunting season.
The wind is screeching,
Dry old leaves are swept away,
They crunch in the breeze.
The moon has risen,
Coyotes howl at night,
Darkness is now here.
Everything is dead,
The air is getting colder,
It's almost winter.
