My Truth
I’ve decided that
I’ll be an escalator
And I’ll never wear
For
When I stop moving
And boots no longer crush me
I’ll just become stairs
And
I’ve decided that
The sun makes only shadows
And raw scorching burns
For
Now that I know to
Make a rainbow you must add
Water, tears returned
And
I’ve decided that
I’ll imagine this blank page
As just my fresh start
For
I’ll fill it with all
Of the words you never said
That pushed us apart
And
I’ve decided that
This sky goes unbroken when
It’s just a riddle
For
Without all of the
Cracks, how could we try to see
The stars a little
And
I’ve decided that
I never will be falling
Or hitting the ground
But
I’ll hit those blue skies
And laugh! I’m not falling just
Flying upside-down
