Chilling spine, breezy
Air throwing leaves, yellow, red
Rain falls, pitter-pat

White fleece, falling ice
Splendid silence echoing
Snowflakes upon tongue

Awaken, birds! Sing!
Yellow, orange, purple blossoms
Sweet aroma blooms

Golden ray shining
Burning fire upon my feet
Neighbor of ocean

The author's comments:
My creative writing teacher gave us a prompt. She told us to write four haikus, one for each season, and combine them to form a longer poem. This was the resulting poem, of which I am very proud.
