Running, fuzz above
his lip, salty tears slipping
down on the parched sweat
Early morning and
Thirsty socks are yearning for
Damp track, new records
An old birthday plate
has a crack down the center,
collecting new dust
A new phone, shiny
digits assaulted by crude,
overgrown fingernails
A magician’s robe
collects the smooth fingerprints
of aging children
Glossy violins
in timid hands, savoring
bittersweet resin
