Candy Wrappers
My mouth waters
I stare hungrily at it
A slab of richness
Hidden within folds
Of thin and crinkly foil
A treasure awaits
Nobody’s around
Its call is so alluring
I can taste it now
No one to stop me
I think about grabbing it
Eating the whole thing
Slowly I unwrap
The sparkly gold wrapper
I don’t discard it
The distinct smell comes
Of bittersweet chocolate
Teasing my taste buds
I break off a piece
I take just a tiny bite
Sweetness explodes!
The flavors burst
Smooth, creamy, sugary
Scrumptious and yummy
I gobble the rest
Delicious in every bite
I’m hungry for more
I look at the bar
And eye the remaining bits
I savor it all
Every bite and taste
A riveting romance
Always appeasing
