Sitting by himself
He waits for justice to come
But he is alone

Resisting the men
As he struggles for release
He feels so helpless

Imprisonment hurt
His ideals and beliefs
He wants to be freed

As life falls apart
Injustice falls together
Separating race

Sitting in his cell
Saying softly to himself
What is wrong with us?

Forty years have passed
He now tastes sweet innocence
Exonerated

She sees her father
As he is being taken
Very far away

A year passes by
When internment is enforced
Discrimination

Today she lectures
About the rights we deserve
And choices we make

Her Activism
Is proving to the whole world
That we are still strong

We are united
No matter how we struggle
We will make it through
