Someday Soon
Boy, someday soon I hope you find that girl
That you swear is the only in the world.
She can flirt and smile,
Getting dressed takes a while,
And rain makes her "straight" hair, curled.
Boy, maybe you'll be relieved to know
That she loves hot weather and hates the snow.
She has no passion
But she's always in fashion
And says poetry is "totally emo."
Boy, I hope you're happy when all she wants to do
Is talk about how she's not good enough for you.
Although, in my mind -
Though it may not be kind -
I know this is absolutely true.
Boy, you see, I cannot flirt,
A little bit of rain never hurt,
I hate the heat,
Poetry is my heartbeat,
And quite frankly, that girl will treat you like dirt.
Boy, I believe you and I could be
More than just an epiphany.
But alas, I'm too shy,
So I guess I'll stand by
While "you and I" become "you and she".
