Fever Dreams
When I appear in the mirror,
Do the same eyes look back at me?
Or am I noticing,
A reflection of apathy?
I am a freak.
Let me out of this fever dream.
I'm stuck in the clouds,
On a planet without consequence.
With each breath I breathe,
My lungs deflate with fright...
For I am higher than before.
Up from the filth,
and muck, and mire-
A reflection in the water across the plain.
I see the bright colors,
But nothing comes back to me.
An endless empty memory,
With nothing left to replace.
It gets kinda scary-
When the future is nigh.
There's no room for doubt when there's no brain inside.
I am a freak.
Let me out of this fever dream.
I'll leave this hell.
Where I'm left to decide.
By my own will;
I'll make it out alive.
I've never a gambling man,
But I'll sail the seas with you anyhow.
I've seen my share of fear and doubt
Beside me there are cynics,
Above me, there is no love,
It's covered by the Sun.
Beyond all measures and means of life...
I reside in the gap of space.
With nothing left but the day before.
I am a freak.
Let me out of this fever dream.
What's really surprising,
Is every day,
I like it a little more.
