We Who Stand
Forevermore
Our heartbeats stain the walls
Shatters the night
Makes angels fall
We who stand
On the tip of the sky
Yet teeter on broken stars
That bleed us dry
Tears of ink fall
And seep into our souls
Staining them black
Like our hearts of coal
That burst into flame
With just a spark
Always smoldering
Fighting the dark
Smoke fills our eyes
Shrouds reality
Unsubstantial
Yet blurring all we see
So we have a choice
To stand up once more
Or crumble and be scattered
Forevermore
